It's been a rough month, but we had a great time at the county fair. We started off this month by finding our Grant has a cystic area/tumor in his brain. We heard everything from don't worry about it, to we need to get him to a neurosurgeon ASAP. Grant has been full of faith through it all! He tells me not to worry, Heavenly Father's plan is better then ours. After many test we have decided to wait to see if it grows. Grant will have another MRI in about 2 months to check for changes. He is still vomiting, but his energy is coming back! I am so grateful for his spiritual strength!
After all the trips to the hospital and St. Louis children's hospital I almost gave up on going to the fair. The boys worked hard all year to prepare, but it just did not seem very important anymore. The week of the fair Grant began to get stronger, so we went for it! The boys went for it! Here are the results: Hamer won Grand Champion Doe with his 9 month old boer goat "Clancy", Hamer won Goat showmanship and Grant was third, Grant won Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer, Hamer won Grand Champion demonstration for public speaking and Grant was third place, and finally the boys tied for Reserve Grand Champion in the talent competition! It boys had a blast and won a lot of money. They are already planning on how they can win more next year. All the money goes to there mission accounts. I am pleased with all their hard work. It does pay off!
COngrats boys! We love you!

Good job at the fair. We need you guys to give us tips on raising our goats. We're just starting out and don't really have any idea what we're doing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the boys! What awesome successes. You guys are in my prayers, especially mister Grant. Love you guys.
